Fall Break Around Lake Michigan (Part 3)
We were up and on the road early on Sunday for the longest, most rural, and most beautiful drive of our trip. We drove from Mackinac Island to Green Bay, through the Upper Penisula of Michigan. This is another area where we want to go back as there is a lot we didn’t take the time to see — but the leaves were beautiful! My pictures and videos just don’t do it justice!
We arrived in Green Bay in the early afternoon and went out for a Mexican lunch. There wasn’t a ton we wanted to do in Green Bay, so we were able to relax, shop, and explore. 
After lunch, we did some shopping. For Bo’s birthday, we had his room and bathroom repainted, and he wanted new rugs, towels, and bedding. We found a HomeGoods and purchased striped grey and navy items to go with his new “grown-up/teen” room theme. We also found a SportClips for Bo to get a haircut and spent some time at Cabela’s purchasing hiking shoes and socks for our upcoming trips to Estes Park and Zion and Bryce Canyon.
After our shopping adventure, we checked into the hotel. The kids wanted some downtime, so Mike and I headed nearby to Badger State Brewing for a drink.
After Mike and I were refreshed and the kids rejuvenated, we took a walk around Green Bay. Our hotel wasn’t far from Lambeau Field, so we walked down to the field for some photos. For a Sunday afternoon, the entire area felt like a ghost town. 
After our stop at the field, we headed to Cold Stone Creamery (can you tell my vacations have an ice cream requirement?) before heading back to the hotel to relax. 
Clara and Anna wanted to swim, so I took them down to the pool for a bit while Mike worked and Bo was on his Switch.
After they swam, we spent the evening relaxing in the room. Clara and I watched Pick of the Litter on Netflix and it made us really miss Chip. Chip had his own vacation while we were gone as a VIP (Very Important Pup) at Starved Rock Pet Resort. They sent me photos during his stay – so sweet!
We were up early on Monday and finished the drive home so we could pick up Chip, start laundry, and I could start catching up with my inbox. It was a quick trip, but a gorgeous one and definitely gave us ideas for where we’d like to go back to and where I can send my clients who are interested in Michigan!
