Secrets Cap Cana
We celebrated the one year anniversary of Pineapple Escapes becoming our own independent agency at Secrets Cap Cana in Punta Cana. We loved it!
Kate, Ashley, and Samantha were my traveling companions for this trip and we had so much fun together. Kate and I headed to O’Hare on Wednesday morning and flew non-stop to Punta Cana. Once we were off the plane and through Customs we headed to the bathroom (anyone who travels with me knows this is a frequent stop) and found Ashley and Samantha there from their flight. They connected in Charlotte and arrived in Punta Cana just before we did.
We found our transfers and headed straight to Secrets Cap Cana. The resort and beach are beautiful! We stayed in the Preferred Club section so we were ushered to the Preferred Club lounge to check-in, complete with champagne. We checked into our rooms – Kate and Ashley had their own rooms and Samantha and I shared a room with two doubles. Our rooms were all right by each other, which was perfect too. We could even see a peek of the ocean from our junior suite tropical view room! 🙂
Kate had friends who were at the resort celebrating a 40th birthday, so she headed off to meet her friends and Samantha, Ashley, and I headed to Le Patio for dinner. It was delicious. After dinner, we went to the show for the evening. It was based on The Greatest Showman. Let’s just say it was an experience. 😉
Kate went on an excursion with her friends the next day and I was up early to enjoy my coffee on the beach while Samantha and Ashley slept in. Once they were up for the day, we enjoyed breakfast poolside at the Preferred Club restaurant, Rosewater. The food was delicious. And the fruit makes me so sad to live in the Midwest!
After our breakfast, we headed to the beach and just enjoyed. We eventually walked down the beach and explored the other resorts nearby and the pier, before heading back to the pool for lunch. After lunch, we enjoyed the pools, including poolside crepes — which were amazing. I had a blueberry, banana, white chocolate crepe, that they made right by the pool. And of course they kept filling my cup with Diet Coke too. It was Heavenly!
Our butler, Steves, walked us over for our COVID tests that afternoon and it took about 30 minutes. They did test both nasal cavities, which wasn’t my favorite part of the trip, but I’d gladly do it again for that view! We had our results in about 15 minutes and then we were released back out to the resort. We showered and dressed for dinner at Oceania that evening. All of the food at the resort was very good!
On Friday, I was up early again and Kate joined me in the lobby for coffee to start the day. It was the official one year anniversary of the agency and we had a great day together to celebrate. We ended up going to breakfast at Oceania and then Samantha and Ashley had fish therapy on the beach (where the fish suck the dead skin off your feet!). We were able to see a few room categories while we were onsite, so we toured a few rooms before a quick lunch. After lunch, we headed to the spa for hydrotherapy and massages! It was a great way to spend the afternoon.
For dinner that night we met Kate’s friends for Hibachi and then restaurant hopped to try as many of the desserts as we could! After our dining adventure, we headed to the show. Still a bit cheesy, but better (in my opinion) then The Greatest Showman.
On Saturday morning, we were all up early for a photoshoot. I wanted to do some marketing photos before we headed home. Our photoshoot was fun and he captured some great shots. It also reminded me that I do really need to go on a diet… But my agents are pretty awesome models! 🙂
After photos, we spent some time in the pool and relaxing before rushing to shower and catch our transfer to the airport. The trip was definitely waaayyyy too short – but we loved the resort and I will definitely be back! We learned so much and we were glad to have firsthand experience testing out the COVID protocols to inform our clients.
