Laborious
It’s hard to believe Labor Day is over! Mike and I are headed to Bloomington today for a day date. My car has a tiny chip and a piece that was manufactured wrong (both were there when we bought it), so we are taking it down to get fixed and decided to make a day of it. Chip is also trying out doggie daycare for the first time today, so we will see how that ends up!
I felt awful at the beginning of last week – turned out I had a head cold, but it definitely made me grateful for when I am feeling 100%! Our dinners for the week directly correlate with how well I felt each evening. 😉 Otherwise, we had another normal week. The trio made it through their second week of in-person school, which feels like a feat! I had a puppy playdate with a friend one morning. Overall, last week was pretty normal with golf practice for Bo and Clara, art for all three, etc.
We did our best to stay entertained over the long weekend. We ran errands on Saturday, including Target, Hobby Lobby, the Bike Shop, and Dollar Tree and headed up to Kuiper’s for apples, apple cider, and apple cider donuts on Sunday. On Monday, we went to the driving range and enjoyed the nice weather before preparing a Thanksgiving Feast for dinner. My trio (Bo especially) starts begging for pumpkin pie and Thanksgiving food as soon as September hits, and we were happy to oblige.
Meals from last week:
Monday: Grilled Cheese and pickles
Tuesday: Homemade Chicken Alfredo – the homemade white sauce is what makes this! Usually, we’d make homemade noodles too, but I wasn’t up to it on Tuesday.
Wednesday: Bella’s Pizza
Thursday: BBQ Salmon Bowls with Mango Salsa This is one of my new favorite recipes! SO GOOD!
Friday: honorable mention for breakfast – Peanut Butter Banana Baked Oatmeal – we had overripe bananas I needed to use so I made this — all three kids declared it delicious!
Chicken Ceasar Salads
Saturday:
Leftovers – I had another BBQ Salmon bowl!
Sunday:
Clara made us all pancakes for breakfast using this recipe. They were delicious!
I made a large batch of spaghetti sauce to freeze and used some of it to make lasagna. We also had Garlic Pull-Apart Bread
Monday:
BLTs with fresh tomatoes and honey crisp apples from Kuiper’s for lunch.
Thanksgiving Feast for dinner – turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, Anna’s cheesy biscuits, and pumpkin pie!
