Monkeypod Kitchen – Ko Olina
Disney’s Aulani in Ko Olina, Hawaii is one of my very favorite places to be with my trio. Hawaii is one of my very favorite destinations and Aulani, with its dash of Disney, is what all of my dreams are made of! Right now, our pattern is to go to Hawaii/Aulani every three years. These photos are from our second trip to Aulani over Spring Break/Easter in April of 2019. It was a phenomenal trip that we combined with a cruise on Norwegian’s Pride of America, visiting Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island.
During our stay, we headed to Monkeypod Kitchen, right across the street from Aulani, one evening for dinner. This was a great spot and one that we all enjoyed!
Monkeypod Kitchen is a farm-to-table restaurant that supports organic farming, fishing, and ranching. This means that the menu is seasonal and changes often, but I promise you, it will not disappoint! Here are the current menus for Monkeypod Kitchen in Ko Olina!
The restaurant started off on the right foot with me — Pineapple Tea!! Unsurprisingly, if you’re familiar with my travel agency and brand, Pineapple Escapes, LLC., I love all things Pineapple and tea is one of my favorite drinks — so I basically knew immediately that I was in Heaven. This may be part of the appeal of Hawaii for me too! 😉
We started with some Poke Tacos and wow! They were so amazing! Highly recommend! I think these were Mike’s favorite dish of the evening! Bo and I shared an order of fish tacos for our main course and I remember wishing I had gotten my own. However, sharing an entree left plenty of room for their homemade cream pie — which the trio loved — and I did as well. Anna had chocolate, Bo had banana, Clara had key lime, and I had my all-time favorite — coconut — which I never get because no one in my family likes coconut! It was so amazing!
A happy trio with their delicious pie! Monkeypod Kitchen is a must-do and a meal we greatly enjoyed! I’m already counting the days until our next trip and wondering if I can sneak a trip in before 2022 when we are scheduled to return. The trick is finding time between all of our other adventures!
If a trip to Aulani or to Hawaii is in your future, I’d love to help you plan and it and make it extra magical!
