Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs

Spread the love
When Mike and I were in Florida in September, we had a special date night at Morimoto Asia in Disney Springs. This restaurant has been on our radar for years and we are always looking for new restaurants to try from some of our favorite chefs. We are huge Top Chef fans at the Weitls!
We both love sushi, but true Asian food is outside of our comfort zone. We went into the meal saying we were going to be brave and try new things — and we did!

We started with the red sea urchin – which honestly, neither of us liked. The texture, the mouth-feel, the taste — it was a no from both of us. But we both tried it! Luckily, our cocktails were delicious and helped to clear our palates!
We also had the JYO sushi combo, pork dumplings, and the Morimoto Peking Duck for two. The sushi and dumplings were easy hits, but neither of us could remember ever having duck before.
The Morimoto Peking Duck is a carved house-roasted whole duck with steamed flour pancakes, apricot sweet chili and hoisin miso sauce. The pancakes serve as a tortilla for the duck and sauce. We both found this to be delicious!
It was a memorable and fun meal and we would definitely go again! There are also some more tame menu options – Beef Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, etc. for those that are feeling a bit less adventurous!
