This is 13!

Spread the love

Well, we officially have a teenager!  Bo’s birthday wasn’t the most exciting day ever –  the trio had online school and we did laundry and worked on packing for our trip, but we tried to add a bit of cheer.

Of course, our birthday banner was up (purchased for Bo’s 1st birthday and now a birthday tradition).  I walked with my friend Jen that morning and we had breakfast at Nonie’s in Utica (outdoors!) and I picked up some extra birthday treats to go with Bo’s request for mini Oreo cheesecakes.  He had a candle in a mini Oreo cheesecake and a chocolate chip cheesecake bar this year.

Bo’s main gift was redecorating and repainting his room and bathroom.  His room is now much more “teen” and gray and navy and then his bathroom coordinates and he has requested a snow theme.  We are still searching for the right items too make that a reality.

Bo’s other request was Hyrule Warriors.  It released on his birthday and didn’t even arrive until late in the afternoon.  We wrapped it and then buried it in a gift bag filled with new pj pants.  Of course, Bo needs new clothes again as even the new items I bought him when school started aren’t fitting now.  He is growing like crazy.

Clara made Bo a set of coupons with nice things that she will do for him, like doing his chores, taking out Chip, etc.  It was sweet. 🙂

Other birthday highlights included a brief visit from Bo’s friend Cade, which definitely made him smile (and the girls too as Cade’s sister Cara was able to say hi too).  They only were able to stay a few minutes, but it was great to see them, as always.   We also had a visit on Saturday from his friends’ Jameson and Jett who brought by a gift as well.

While it wasn’t an exciting birthday, we do hope to take Bo and a few of his friends to Top Golf at some point in the future to celebrate — but who knows when that will be at this point.  We tend to travel over Thanksgiving, which is always right after Bo’s birthday — and this year we headed to Estes Park, Colorado.  More on our trip tomorrow!
